Newman compared "[t]he Clinton machine" to "the Third Reich insofar as its refusal to quit until there is simply no other choice"
Discussing the January 8 victory of Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (NY) in the New Hampshire primary following her third-place finish in the January 3 Iowa caucuses, Newsradio 850 KOA's "Gunny" Bob Newman stated on his January 9 broadcast that "[t]he Clinton machine is ominous. It might be compared to the Third Reich insofar as its refusal to quit until there is simply no other choice."
As Colorado Media Matters has noted (here, here, here, and here), Newman on numerous occasions has made references and analogies to Nazi Germany when criticizing Democratic or liberal individuals and organizations. On his September 4, 2007, broadcast, while criticizing MSNBC's then-recent decision not to air an advertisement produced by the organization Freedom's Watch in support of the Iraq war, Newman distorted the name of host Keith Olbermann to make a Nazi reference in characterizing MSNBC as "the network of the far-left, anti-American hate merchant Keith Olbermeinkampf." And on his July 18, 2007, broadcast, he labeled Planned Parenthood "the biggest abortion mill in the history of the planet -- I mean, other than the Third Reich."
From the January 9 broadcast of Newsradio 850 KOA's The Gunny Bob Show:
NEWMAN: "The New Hampshire primary: The Fallout, the Future, and the Fear" on "Gunny" Bob, Newsradio 850 KOA. Then there's the question that came up Monday. You remember this, after Hillary's teary performance, which may have been the first such performance in her political career. It's the only one I can remember. Now, at least insofar as New Hampshire goes, it didn't hurt her at all. It would appear. That said, how do you think -- yes, you -- how do you think the nation and world leaders perceive her now that she might appear to a be a woman who starts crying when something she wants so desperately appears to be in question? Then again, she defied the polls and came from way behind to win last night. The Clinton machine is ominous. It might be compared to the Third Reich insofar as its refusal to quit until there is simply no other choice. Remember the Germans back in World War II. I mean, they fought down just about the last man in the middle, standing in the middle of Berlin! And the Clintons think the same way when it comes to givin' up. They don't like to give up! Did her performance last night make you think today that maybe she is the candidate who can hang in there when the going gets really tough? And perhaps more importantly, could that be carried forward to her presidency if she wins in November?

I simply cannot find any documentation that the old oberscharfuhrer has been in combat. I did see his radio bio, and at the top of his decorations exhibit is a Combat Action Ribbon. But his job MOS and duty sections detail no combat time. Wikipedia has pulled his bio. His radio bio does mention he's "a ground combat veteran" but where did this occur? Any way, if somebody out there knows about any combat experience he might have garnered, please let me know. My DD214 lists my Combat Action Ribbon as I saw combat in Vietnam, so I would think it should be fairly easy to document. UNLESS.....................
LETKEMANN. I cannot claim a Combat Action Ribbon on my DD214, I did spend 18 months in the Phillipines, Thailand, and Viet nam, 1967 and 68. US Air Force enlisted. You have my respect and gratitude for your service. I saw enough of that mess to convince me it was a horrendous waste of lives on both sides. I don't trust loud mouths like this Goon on KOA or any of the rest of these phoney baloney Repub patriots who never served but run their mouths.
