Boyles' guest Anderson implied that Latinos "breed" like "chickens and rats"

On his May 21 show on 630 KHOW-AM, Peter Boyles claimed that a "Latino guy" complained to him about "the derogatory things" Los Angeles radio host and frequent guest Terry Anderson has said on Boyles' show, including the statement that "they breed like flies." Appearing with Boyles that day, Anderson apparently referred to Latinos when he replied, "I never used that ... I said chickens and rats, but never flies." Anderson further stated, "If you've got a certain segment of ... our communities out here who have five, six, seven kids, and the other segments of the communities are only having one and two children, I think it's a fair assessment."

BOYLES: I got to tell you a story. So this guy calls me, and he's -- Latino guy, Hispanic surname guy. And he's thinking about running for office. This is legit. And I've talked to this guy a couple times. Good guy. And he said he was meeting with a bunch of his friends and he said, and he said, you know, they, they're, although they're -- he said, "We really agree with what Peter does on the show," he said, "except that guy they have on from California." I'm not, I am not making this up.

ANDERSON: Well, I love it.

BOYLES: And they said because of the derogatory things that you have said.

ANDERSON: About?

BOYLES: I think he said you, you used a term once called "they breed like flies."

ANDERSON: I've never, I never used that.

BOYLES: Yeah, I don't remember you saying that and I thought --

ANDERSON: I said chickens and rats, but never flies.

BOYLES: Never flies [laughs]. No, but he said that you said that. I said, "I don't remember him saying that," but he said, "We wish you wouldn't have him on the air," but --

ANDERSON: Well, let me put it to you this way. If you've got a certain segment of, of, of, of, of our communities out here who have five, six, seven kids, and the other segments of the communities are only having one and two children, I think it's a fair assessment.

BOYLES: Well, I mean the, the birthrate alone is,
but --

ANDERSON: Yeah, it's outrageous.

BOYLES: Yeah.

ANDERSON: It's outrageous. Now, tell him to change that, tell him to get his friends to change that, and then I won't have anything to say.

Anderson -- whose Los Angeles-based KRLA talk show airs for one hour on Sunday evenings -- has made racially insensitive comments on more than one occasion as Boyles' guest. On October 16, 2006, Anderson blamed Hispanic students for starting riots that occur "almost on a weekly basis" in Los Angeles high schools. Additionally, after telling Boyles on October 25, 2006, that "this will give you some controversy," Anderson referred to illegal immigrants as "the chosen people" and "the Israelites of the new millennium." He added, "These people can do anything and get away with it."
