"Call me kooky": "Gunny" Bob called for all Muslim immigrants to wear "GPS tracking bracelet[s]," urged government monitoring
Discussing the breakup of an alleged terrorist plot to attack U.S. soldiers at New Jersey's Fort Dix, Newsradio 850 KOA host "Gunny" Bob Newman said on his May 8 show that "every Muslim immigrant to America who holds a green card, a visa, or who is a naturalized citizen [should] be required by law to wear a GPS tracking bracelet at all times," and that the government should "bug their places of work and their residences" and monitor "[a]ll mosques and community centers." Newman added, "If they don't like the idea, or if they refuse, throw their asses out of this country."
Newman also suggested refusing Muslims entry into the United States by imposing a "moratorium" on visas for them. Speaking directly to the Muslim community, Newman warned, "You better get control of your own people. Once you get control of them, then come see us again and we'll think about -- however many decades down the road it is -- we'll think about maybe opening our doors to you again. But you are doing absolutely freaking nothing to help ... this nation."

NEWMAN: I want -- tell me if I'm wrong or tell me if I'm right. I want every Muslim immigrant to America who holds a green card, a visa, or who is a naturalized citizen to be required by law to wear a GPS tracking bracelet at all times. And the FBI and the NSA should monitor their phones and their emails, all communications -- electronic -- at all times, as well as bug their places of work and their residences. If they don't like the idea, or if they refuse, throw their asses out of this country. All mosques and community centers as well as Muslim organizations must be monitored. We know with the arrests today that the Muslim terrorists are absolutely, positively here -- and we invited them to our country! And I think maybe it's time that we should stop doing that. Call me kooky, but I think maybe it's time for a little moratorium on Muslim visas, period. Hey, I'm sorry, guys -- I know that a lot of you are great people. I know you just like to do business here or become a U.S. citizens and be a peaceful person. I know that. But you know what? You better get control of your own people. Once you get control of them, then come see us again and we'll think about -- however many decades down the road it is -- we'll think about maybe opening our doors to you again. But you are doing absolutely freaking nothing to help, to, to help this nation. And that's that.

I dare anyone to defend this. Once we start going down this road, we lose what we love about our country and become what we claim to hate and fear. If "they" truly "hate us for our freedom," why act more like "them?"

thankyou friedbergboy. concur! what is seeming more and more like a trend is this insane, over the top screeching by herr streicher and these others like the newbies james and michelli. is it intended to divert from Iraq? lack of armor? the DOJ? lack of natl. guard presence in KS? outing of a carreer CIA agent? VA? generals taking out adds to criticize bush? repub senators and congresspersons bailing on him? oil vote by the iraqi congress? the supplemental? mission accomplished? the righty screechers have always been agressive, but they seem to be ratcheting up the vitriol and hate even more than in the past. is it just bully behavior? desperation? if not, then what?

I will work on that tonight RBean. CMM should also note when Bob said that he had made 120 correct terroist predictions since October 1, 2001 last night. I am sure, if they are anything like this analysis, they would be a joy to behold.
Since bob readily admits to having advanced knowledge of 120 terrorist attacks (who cares if it is true or not) I think that he should be reported to the proper authorities (NSA, FBI, etc. and maybe the RIAA just for the hell of it). I think they should start monitoring his phone calls and e-mails, bug his place of business and residence, and consider deporting him if anything the least bit suspicious is found.
What's funnier is when I sent him an email... he didn't even know what I was talking about, despite the fact I directly referenced his comments re: Muslims. Too funny... clear evidence of the shallow and disposable nature of his comments.

Where did you ever hear that McVeigh and Nichols were motivated by Christianity? McVeigh claimed to be an atheist. Even if they were motivated by Christianity (which they were not) that would be just one event that happened 12 years ago. Islamic Jihadists commit murderous acts in the name of Islam every day.

As a Muslim in America, who was born and raised here, I'm shocked and offended by Gunny Bob's comments. As a religion of people, there's nothing we can do to "get control of" our own people, just as Christians and Jews and Buddhist and Hindus can't get control over their extremist groups who murder "in the name of religion." Every religion has it's extremes and discriminating against a billion people for the actions of a few is uncalled for. The comment made that offends me the most is the types of Muslims he listed off are all considered citizens of this country if I'm not mistaken. Don't they deserve the same rights as any other citizen? I would hope that this country that takes pride in being free and EQUAL would exercise that for all citizens. In the end, all I can tell Gunny Bob, and the rest of the world, is don't judge an entire nation of people based on what a few people do. If everyone did that, this nation wouldn't be the great melting pot of cultures that I know it to be.
