- Peter Boyles continues to defend his offensive comments
Following a wave of public outcry after 630 KHOW-AM's Peter Boyles repeatedly used a crude smear to refer to U.S. Rep. Diana DeGette, The Denver Post reported on February 20: "Kris Olinger, director of AM programming at Clear Channel Denver, said in an e-mail that she discussed the matter with Boyles and 'he has agreed not use that term again.' "
Despite Olinger's statement, Boyles on his February 20 broadcast continued defending his comments as "funny" and "hilarious." He also falsely claimed that he never said "Vagina DeGette" on his program, despite audio recordings indicating that he did.
Call KHOW and its owner, Clear Channel Communications Inc., to ask their executives why they and Peter Boyles have not taken responsibility for Boyles' comments, and when they plan to do so.

In addition, view a video and sign an open letter at ProgressNow Colorado calling on Peter Boyles to apologize to Congresswoman DeGette and to respect women.- Hold Clear Channel responsible for host's offensive comments
On February 18, while discussing President Barack Obama's visit to Denver to sign the economic recovery bill, 630 KHOW-AM's Peter Boyles repeatedly referred to one of the ceremony attendees, Democratic U.S. Rep. Diana DeGette of Denver, as "Vagina DeJet" and "Vagina DeGette." In one segment of his program, Boyles laughed loudly while playing and replaying a brief audio clip of the president mispronouncing the congresswoman's last name.
Do you consider Boyles' insulting and offensive references to one of our elected representatives an appropriate use of public airwaves? Call KHOW and its owner, Clear Channel Communications Inc., and ask their executives to explain whether they consider Boyles' speech to be a responsible use of the airwaves, and, if not, what they plan to do about it.
